Saturday June 29 Yoga of Digestion
Sunday June 30 Yoga of Exercise
Gianna Piccardo and Richard Haynes will be offering Part 1 and Part 2 of our Sattvic Living Series June 29 & 30. This is an opportunity to establish balanced living and eating–Taking Yoga “off the mat” and into your life
Part 1: The Yoga of digestion
The Vedas clearly state that the key to health and vitality is our digestion. If we do not have a strong digestive fire and powerful elimination, the physical body (anna maya kosha) becomes weakened. If our elimination is not strong, the subtle energy channels in the body become obstructed. In either case, the state of yoga or perfect balance is difficult to maintain.
On this Day we will create the diet, routine, and atmosphere that supports perfect digestion. Something we rarely experience in our fast paced world. Having this experience just once and understanding all aspects of ones digestive process is often enough to eliminate digestive problems and food allergies caused by our lifestyle and diet. Many find this a life changing experience.
Part 2: The Yoga of Exercise
The Vedas also state the the purpose of exercise is to take stress away. Many of us are able to relax during meditation or our yoga practice, but what about the rest of the day, the other 23 hours. It is what happens off the mat that has the biggest impact on our health. How we exercise is a window into how stress impacts our system. In our would, more people die exercising than watching TV–more people die in health clubs than night clubs. Clearly these energies all around us have an impact on our mental emotional bodies.
The Yoga o
f exercise is learning how to disconnect from these energies, listen to your heart and experience pure bliss while you exercise.

Part 3: The Yoga of purification and rejuvenation
There is a sutra in Ayurveda that roughly translates: “You don’t have to be sick to get better.” Purification and rejuvenation is a big part of Ayurveda and keeps us looking and feeling our best as we get older. However, without a foundation based on strong digestion and elimination and a regular exercise program that truly nourishes every aspect of our being, purification and rejuvenation will not produce lasting benefits and in fact can be damaging to an system that is not stable. This third part of the Sattvic living series is offered from time to time in small groups or an individual program can be designed.
